WOA Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to the 2017 WOA Pre-Optometry Scholarship recipient Shelby Mayer.

"When I got to high school, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in health care. Biology was always an interest of mine, but I often wondered what path was best for me. My cousin became a licensed optometrist when I was a sophomore, and this really re-ignited my interest in the profession. I paid closer attention to my eye exams after that, and I realized that working closely with patients while improving their vision is what I truly want to do."

Shelby graduated from East High School and then went on to play volleyball at Black Hills State University where she graduated with a BS in Biology.  She plans to attend Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry this fall.

Help Wanted

Congratulations Dr. Hazen!!

"I am happy to announce we're having a addition to our family here in Wheatland!  My husband Matt and I will be welcoming my second child in September!  We are very excited, unfortunately one of the drawbacks of solo practice is figuring out maternity leave.  If anyone knows of a doctor in the area available to fill in a few days a week in the fall I would love to know.  I just need someone there to keep my staff occupied enough to stick around and pay the light bill!  It would be very flexible days and hours."
